Erratum

Errors have been identified in the article "Evolutionary Rates, Divergence Dates, and the Performance of Mitochondrial Genes in Bayesian Phylogenetic Analysis" by Rachel Lockridge Mueller, which appeared in Systematic Biology, Volume 55, Number 2, pp. 289–300.

Corrections are as follows, with bolding added for emphasis only.

Page 293, Column 2, Line 27: "The proportion of the total expected branches recovered with PP≤0.95 was defined as the dependent variable" should read "The proportion of the total expected branches recovered with PP ≥ 0.95 was defined as the dependent variable."

Page 294, Column 2, Line 27: "No individual gene analysis recovers and supports with PP ≤ 0.95 ..." should read "No individual gene analysis recovers and supports with PP≥0.95 ..."

Page 297, Column 1, Line 38: "... the rate at which unexpected/false branches may be assigned a PP≤0.95 in a Bayesian phylogenetic analysis. Overall, these analyses assigned a PP≤0.95 to a total of 12 unexpected branches..." should read "... the rate at which unexpected/false branches may be assigned a PP≥0.95 in a Bayesian phylogenetic analysis. Overall, these analyses assigned a PP≥0.95 to a total of 12 unexpected branches..."

Taylor and Francis regrets these errors and any inconvenience caused.
